Missions
To undertake the tasks of collecting, processing storing maintaining and serving of seismic data and strong motion accelerograph data, the main tasks include:
- Real-time collecting, processing and storing the data of 150 stations of National Seismic Network, 107 seismic stations and 71 strong motion stations of Regional Seismic Network in Capital Circle, 2 seismic arrays, 6 volcanic networks, 31 Regional Seismic Networks Centers' strong motion data and intensity rapid report data;
- Nearly real-time collecting, processing and storing the data of 31 Regional Seismic Networks Center's continuous waveform and processing results;
- Rapidly reporting earthquakes Ms >= 4.0 occurred in Eastern China within 20 minutes; Ms >= 4.5 occurred in Western China within 30 minutes; detecting earthquake source mechanic parameters of earthquakes Ms >= 4.5 in network within 3 hours;
- Producing monthly seismological catalogues; Compiling and publishing Observation Report of National Digital Seismic Network and Observation Report of China Seismic Stations;
- Storing and maintaining nationwide various seismic data, periodically collecting and storing the observation data recorded by mobile seismic stations and National Strong Motion Accelerograph Center, providing data services online or offline;
- Operating and maintaining World Data Center for Seismology, Beijing.
